How to use this page[edit]

Below you will find links to the weekly assignment pages. Each of these pages is editable by anyone in the class, so apart from telling you what problems to work on they are excellent spaces in which to ask questions. (If you are very shy you may ask your questions privately, either by email or in person. But we will all work more efficiently if you ask them on the wiki, so that each question only needs to be answered once.) It is also extremely helpful to try to answer questions posed by other students. I will monitor these pages to ensure that no wrong answers go uncorrected.

If you are not already familiar with them, you may wish to read about wiki markup and typesetting mathematics. Also, you may wish to add this page and the assignment pages to your watchlist using the link in the upper right corner of each page, then change your preferences to enable e-mail notifications; this way you will know about page activity without constantly re-checking all the pages.

Math Club link[edit]

Hello everyone!

Here is a link to the SA Group sign-in as I promised.
https://umb.campuslabs.com/engage/

Click the blue sign-in button in the top right corner of the page. You will be prompted to enter your UMB email identifier (e.g. if your email was "isaac.newton001@umb.edu" just the "isaac.newton001" part) and UMB email password. Then, you will come to its "Explore" page with a search bar where you can type in "Math Club" and a menu with a selection for the Math Club's page will appear. Selecting that will take you to a page with the title "Math Club" and a logo with a blue "Join" button below it. (You can also click on the "Organizations" tab underneath the "UMBeInvolved" logo on the top left part of the screen and you will come to a directory for all student clubs with a list of filters on the left hand side of the page. If you select the "Academic" filter, and click on the "Load More" button on the bottom of the page you will find the entry for the Math Club.)

Thanks to those of you who sign up!
James Austin Hill

Access to Notes[edit]

Hi all!

Here is a link to a google drive folder where all of my notes are stored. The file will be named ABSTmonthday.pagenumber. ie: Notes from class on Sept 28 will be titled ABST0928.1, ABST0928.2, etc.
[1]

My notebook automatically uploads them, and I thought this may be helpful for anyone who misses a day and easier than me sharing the folder on an individual basis.

If there is any issue with accessing them, feel free to email me at bryan.lynn001@umb.edu

Best,
Bryan Lynn

Infinite Series - youtube channel[edit]

Hey all,

I found this video which has a little to do with Abstract Algebra and how you can use multiplication on shapes. It's part of a youtube channel by PBS called Infinite Series which is a great channel.
